You may recall that we gave Grand Theft Auto V an Editor's Choice award when we reviewed it for the Xbox 360 nearly a year and a half ago. We've been anxiously waiting for it to arrive on Windows ever since, and were stoked when Rockstar Games said it would release to PC in January 2015. Ah, but it wasn't meant to be, as January turned into March 24, which has now turned into April 14. Yes, GTA V for PC is delayed again, though this time it's by less than a month. Whether it will be worth the long wait remains to be seen, and we're cautiously optimistic it will be, considering the graphical upgrades... Read more...

Ever wondered what would happen if a group of senior citizens sat down for a spell to play Grand Theft Auto V? Wonder know more, because the folks who run the REACT channel on YouTube did exactly that, though instead of throwing their controllers down in disgust over the in-game violence and various illegal activities, they enjoyed themselves. Immensely. Each senior citizen was given 30 minutes of play time in GTA V's open world. They weren't given any information other than basic controls. Other than that, it was up to them to explore the environment and play the game however they wish. Early... Read more...
Well, who didn’t see this one coming? Delays for highly anticipated video games are nothing new, so you shouldn’t be too surprised to hear that Rockstar Games has delayed the release of Grand Theft Auto V for the PC. The game was originally set to debut on January 27, but that date has now been pushed back until March 24. “Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be,” said Rockstar in a posting on its website earlier this morning. “Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice... Even the miscreants of Los Santos get into the holiday spirit. Well, sort of. It's not like they'll put down their weapons and stop stealing cars, but at least now they'll wreak havoc while dressed appropriately for the season. We're talking about ugly sweaters that have suddenly become faux fashionable and holiday masks -- ever rob a store looking like a gingerbread man? Now you can, once you install the latest title update for Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar Games is rolling out the 1.19 update for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and 1.05 update for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The updates are chock... Read more...
There's no such thing as an official Grand Theft Auto game until there's been a bit of controversy leading to its removal from at least one set of store shelves. It's a right of passage for the GTA series, if you will, and GTA V -- an excellent game, we might add -- just earned its place among the franchise's previous titles by ruffling feathers in Australia, leading to its ousting from Target stores. At issue this time around is the "game's depictions of violence against women." Jim Cooper, general manager of corporate affairs for Target, explained to The Guardian that customers have voiced a... Rockstar Games is gearing up to release Grand Theft Auto V to PlayStation 4 and XBox One systems tomorrow (November 18, 2014), both of which will benefit from immediate patches. The size of the Xbox One patch hasn't yet been confirmed, though if you're rocking a PS4 console, be prepared to download a 1.14GB update if you want the best experience. The size of the patch became public knowledge after GTA V was made available to pre-load over the weekend. If you're planning to play the game tomorrow, pre-loading isn't a bad idea, especially if your Internet connection isn't all that fast to begin with.... Read more...

The Guinness World Records 2015 Gamer’s Edition was released on November 6 for gamers who might be curious as to the longest gaming session, which franchise has earned the most in gross sales, or just basic facts and figures related to gaming. One particular topic that tends to generate discussion is what game franchise is the best. For Guinness, Activision’s first-person shooter franchise, Call of Duty, beat out other franchises, such as Grand Theft Auto and Mario Bros, to be named the best franchise ever. “More than 5,000 fans of the book from 140 countries across the world... After blowing out both of my knees, at least one of which is still in need of more surgical repair, I find it's safer and generally easier on my body (though not always my sanity) to drop dimes and take it strong to the rim in basketball simulations than it is to hop back on the blacktop. That's one of the reasons why I'm looking forward to NBA 2K15 by 2K Games. And the other? Face mapping technology. I'm short, white, and like to pretend I still have an athletic build. Creating an in-game character with those traits is pretty easy, but even after tweaking the hair and goatee, the resemblance is... Read more...
When it comes to lucrative game franchises two of the most well-known ones happen to be Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto. Activision publishes the CoD franchise while Take-Two Interactive is responsible for publishing GTA. However, there are rumors floating around that Activision might be trying to purchase Take-Two. Speculation began when a research note from Benchmark analyst Mike Hickey talked about “an emerging romance” between both companies. Hickey said, “For Activision, acquiring Take-Two Interactive would be a no-brainer, in our view, circling some of the strongest development... Read more...
For those of us who find most mobile games to be unengaging, the rise of so-called “premium” games on mobile platforms is a welcome development. Big names have been trotting out the likes of Modern Combat 5: Blackout (Gameloft) and Mass Effect: Infiltrator (EA), which tend to carry high price tags, but pack better graphics and gameplay that your typical $1.99 game or freebie. Now, 2K is readying the original Bioshock for iOS. You could be playing Bioshock on your iPad as early as this summer. Bioshock for iOS. Gearbox Software, maker of the popular Borderlands series, is back with a new title that promises some of that exciting genre-bending fun the company has made successful. In tandem with 2K, Gearbox announced a futuristic shooter called Battleborn. “If Borderlands 2 is a shooter-looter, Battleborn is a hero-shooter,” said Gearbox president Randy Pitchford in a press release. “As a genre-fused, hobby-grade, co-operative and competitive FPS exploding with eye-popping style and an imaginative universe, Battleborn is the most ambitious video game that Gearbox has ever created.”...
