Hewlett-Packed today unveiled a refresh Pavilion lineup that is geared towards general consumers. The new products encompass both all-in-ones and convertibles, the latter of which are available in a wide range of colors to fit your personal design tastes. Hewlett-Packed is ready to take on Apple in regard thin and light notebook designs, and it wants to be a design leader that other OEMs aspire to emulate. Hence we have today’s introduction of the HP Spectre, which is claimed to be the world’s thinnest laptop. So how thin is it? According to HP, the partially aluminum chassis measures just 10.4mm, or about the same thickness of a AAA battery. HP is due to reveal on April 5th what may be the thinnest notebook on the market. The HP Spectre is claimed to be 11mm- thick with a 13.3-inch display, and would beat Apple’s claims to having the slimmest products on the market. It appears that the photocopiers are running at full steam in the tech world. In mid-November, Nokia showed no mercy with its Android-based N1 tablet that looks like a near clone of Apple’s iPad mini. Today, Hewlett-Packard is jumping onboard with its new Pro Slate tablets, which look supersized versions of the HTC One (M8) smartphone. HP announced two new updates to its ZBook Mobile Workstation line at CES today. The PC maker’s new ZBook 14 G2 and ZBook 15u G2 are both workstation ultrabooks that support 3D graphics and undergo HP’s heavy testing process for enterprise devices. The HP ZBook 14 G2 runs on Core i5 or i7 processors with 16GB of memory, as well as AMD FirePro 3D graphics. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation granted $500,000 to CARE in India. Here's a heads up if you're in the market for Chromebook. Google and HP have put a temporarily hold on sales of the HP Chromebook 11 after a "small number" of users complained about an overheating issue with the stock charger that comes included with the laptop. In a statement on its Google Chrome Blog, the sultan of search said it and HP are working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission on appropriate corrective measures.
