Lian Li has chosen to move away from the traditional motherboard tray with its latest chassis, the PC-9N. While many chassis today use a solid motherboard tray that blocks airflow, the PC-9N uses a railing mount design that provides increased thermal performance and better cable management. The PC-9N is a brushed aluminum mid tower chassis that supports ATX and micro-ATX motherboards. The chassis is capable of holding up to three 3.5-inch hard drives and one 2.5-inch SSD in an all aluminum, tool-less, modular drive cage that is located in the lower front of the chassis. To reduce noise and vibrations,... Read more...
Although the Core i7 and X58 combo is a proven performance leader, there are still plenty of Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs out there in the wild. The Core 2 is still a very capable processor with many models costing less than half the price the cheapest Core i7 processor, the Core i7 920. Thus, systems based around the P45 chipset are still a viable option for getting good, if not great, performance at a vastly more affordable price. Up until now, when users thought of a micro-ATX board, they typically expect find a slimmed down version of a full sized product, minus some of the bells and whistles... Read more...

Finding the right chassis for a system build is like setting up the foundation before building out the design of your computer and working your craftsmanship into the intricate details of component selection and configuration. Start with a good foundation that caters to your build requirements and you're bound to have a better overall end result when you hit the power switch to boot up for the first time. And though the average enthusiast might choose a larger full tower case with real estate to spare, for many there is also beauty in smaller, more space-efficient designs. We've covered our share... The folks at the Inquirer have posted some interesting news from CeBIT in the way of a Micro-ATX SLI-capable motherboard to be offered by EVGA. Apparently, EVGA has received several requests by interested OEM's so you can likely expect to see this board appearing in potent SFF systems in the coming months. Despite the fact that Shuttle already had compact SLI motherboards, we can all agree having a few more options is never a bad thing. The board uses Nforce 4 SLI chipset and it has three PCIe graphic slots. In a reality if you use the single... Read more...
