Earlier this week, Hot Hardware mentioned that Canon and Toshiba had announced their deal to build a factory in Japan to build great big SED widescreens, and predicted it would put pressure on other screen prices. As Yahoo! News reports, AOL is fully commited to continuing the drastic changes that are being made to its service. The latest change for AOL is their decision to jump into the online film distribution market, as they are announcing plans to start selling movies and TV shows through their service. Intel has gotten a lot of good press lately in regard to their new family of Server, Desktop, and Mobile processors based on the Core Microarchitecture, but it wasn't enough to stop AMD's momentum in the server space.  C|Net is reporting that AMD has grabbed 26% of the server market thanks to the continued success of the Opteron. HKEPC has managed to get their hands on some Intel documents which suggest that the company is aiming to bring their upcoming Santa Rosa mobile platform to the embedded market to compete with VIA. Beyond the obvious mobile segment, Intel intends to use the Santa Rosa platform in MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) and MoEB (Mobile on Embedded). Here, the company has designed a reference platform dubbed "Matanzas" to aid in bringing designs to market as quickly as possible. None other than Mike Magee himself has posted an interesting bit of news regarding the motherboard chipset market over at The Inquirer. Here, Mike had the opportunity to sit down with ATI's own Dave Orton and discuss where ATI would be in this market down the road.
