LucidLogix sure has been making waves this year. The company's making even more of that with their newest announcement, one that involves a partnership with MSI to bring Lucid Virtu support to MSI Z68 motherboards. Z68 seems to be all the rage these days, referencing Intel's first chipsets to natively support USB 3.0. And now with this, these mainboards will also support mix-and-match GPU arragements. The two companies have worked together before, and now the partnership is springing forward to a new level. MSI will have a complete lineup of Z68 based mainboards with Virtu technology. All based... The concept of pairing two totally different GPUs together in order to strive towards a common goal is a really radical one, and it's one that has been embraced by LucidLogix. This company is the one that comes to mind when you think of multi-core graphics from different vendors, as their HydraLogix read-time distributed processing engine and its Virtu GPU virtualization software has become nearly legendary in the gaming community. But it's not simple to make this work, and the company knows that. It's far from being "plug-n-play," but they're constantly pushing out new releases that support new... Read more...
If there's one name that has been largely associated with "game changing" in the PC gaming world the past couple of years, it's probably LucidLogix. This company has given us hope that one day, our systems can use AMD and NVIDIA GPUs at the same time, and for the same greater good. It's a lovely story of peace, and it's something we hope will be possible on all PCs shortly. This week, the company's announcing that their Virtu Solution will be licensed out on select Intel desktop boards with H67 and Z68 chipsets. What does that mean? That means that the Virtu GPU virtualization software will be... Read more...
LucidLogix is ending the year right. The company is best known for its multi-vendor/multi-GPU technology, which allows mixed GPUs from different companies to come together and work hard with one another in order to improve frame rates to the end user. Today, the company revealed that they have announced GPU virtualization software designed for Intel Sandy Bridge platforms. In other words, there's little doubt now that Sandy Bridge is nearing release, and we suspect a load of releases to happen at CES 2011. With this technology, next generation PCs will dynamically balance the advanced power-efficient,... Read more...
Remember LucidLogix Technologies? They're the ones intent on removing any and all potential roadblocks to configuring a multi-GPU system. You know, those little annoyances like picking the right chipset for your graphics hardware (SLI or CrossFire-X) and only pairing same make/model cards with one another. LucidLogix sidestepped these challenges with its HydraLogix 200 processor, a wonder chip that motherboard vendors could slap onto their boards that would allow system builders to mix and match videocards from AMD and Nvidia, as well as cards from different generations. Quick, name one board that... Read more...
