USB 3.0 has been out for awhile now. Loads of notebooks and desktops are shipping each day with USB 3.0 support, and while we still wish that each and every PC would make the jump to 3.0, at least progress is being made. But there's one qualifier there: the only USB 3.0 machines shipping are Windows-based PCs. In other words, no Mac is supporting USB 3.0 today, even the newest MacBook Air machines. LaCie announced the addition of 3TB hard drive capacity options to its LaCie d2 USB 3.0 and LaCie 2big USB 3.0. With this announcement, LaCie’s 2big USB 3.0 is now available with 6TB of total storage. Because the storage solution uses USB 3.0, it also gets a boost in speed—it's capable of reaching 306MB/s. LaCie and Symwave have teamed up to create the 2Big USB 3.0, a dual hard disk RAID 0/1 storage solution that uses the new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 standard.
