Well that was fast! Apple just barely had enough time to take a breath after announcing iOS 5, the next major version of its mobile operating system that won't ship for several more months, and already it's been jailbroken by MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team! This is an early jailbreak that's a little rough around the edges and has to be tethered to a PC in order to boot (hey, not bad for the whole 2 seconds MuscleNerd had to play with the build), but as far as functionality goes, MuscleNerd posted pictures showing his jailbroken 4th generation iPod touch running Cydia. We wouldn't recommend jailbreaking your iPhone 4 if you aren't totally familiar with what kind of craziness could break loose should something go wrong, but if you're all clear, there's some tantalizing news out tonight from the Dev-Team. The team has just broken loose the iPhone 4, running on iOS 4.3.2 (the newest iOS release). iPad 2 users are still out in the cold, but it shouldn't be long now. Apple introduced the iPhone in the U.K. and Germany on Friday, and at the same time unleashed software update 1.1.2 on the world.  Little did they know it had been broken already.Erica Sadun at The Unofficial Apple Weblog obtained jailbreaking code for the 1.1.2 update almost simultaneous with its release last night, and tests this morning confirm that it works for both the iPhone and the iPod Touch.
