Typically when installing a patch for a game the expectation is that it will improve performance, stomp out bugs, and maybe even make the title look better, depending on what it brings to the tablet. That isn't the case for some gamers with the Fall update for Battlefield 1. PC gamers who applied the latest BF1 patch are up in arms over a degradation in graphics and they've gotten DICE's attention. A thread is that is 30 pages and growing is filled with complaints on the official BF1 forum. Some questioned whether others were seeing things, chalking the whole thing up to a placebo effect of sorts,... Read more...

If it's varied styles of combat you're after, Battlefield 1 might be the title you've been waiting for. Electronics Arts brought along a trailer of the World War 1 shooter being developed by DICE to E3, which starts off with ground warfare showing soldiers hopping into tanks and storming through towns on foot. While this is going on, biplanes whiz by overhead shooting at one another before taking down a zeppelin later in the trailer. It's noted in a separate video showing an hour of gameplay footage that when the zeppelin finally succumbs to gunfire, it catches fire and comes crashing down on top... Read more...
Exactly one month ago today, Dice took the veil off of the next major Battlefield title. The oddly-named Battlefield 1 will take a break from more futuristic combat to bring us way back to the World War I era. While World War II-styled games used to be poked fun at due to the sheer amount available, it seems now is the right time to give ourselves a new-age WW1 experience. To say that the hype surrounding this game is huge would be an understatement. While we've learned the hard lesson of not putting our complete faith into launch trailers, Battlefield 1's was so good that even if it doesn't live... Read more...
We learned this morning that Mass Effect: Andromeda is being delayed until 2017, but it looks as though Electronic Arts its right on track for a 2016 debut for Titanfall 2. The mech-infused game is scheduled to land during fiscal Q3 according to EA CEO Andrew Wilson, which means that it should blast onto B&M and digital store shelves somewhere between October and the end of December (barring any last-minute hiccups). Interestingly enough, the launch timeframe will put Titanfall 2 right up against Battlefield 1, which will launch on October 21st. But Wilson isn’t worried about cannibalization... Read more...

Sorry, not sorry Denver Broncos fans, but your battered team led by Satan Manning is going to lose the Super Bowl. Yes, that's a prediction of a bitter New England Patriots fan (me), but also that of Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 16 simulation. Before you dismiss it as just a video game, consider that there are plenty of reasons why you should take the prediction seriously. EA's Madden franchise has a favorable history in predicting the Super Bowl winner. How favorable? Try 9 out of 12. That's right, out of 12 attempts at predicting a Super Bowl winner by way of a game simulation, EA's Madden titles... Read more...
