Well, you can't say you saw this coming, can you? After the United States Senate approved a four month delay for the digital TV transition that would have effectively moved the cutover date from February 17th to June 12th, the House of Representatives stopped the whole show.In a shocking decision, the House voted 258 to 168 in favor of the bill, but under the special rules for this vote that required a full two-thirds majority to pass, it didn't quite make it. If it had received the appropriate amount of yeas, the switch -- which will see all local broadcast stations shut their analog signals off... Read more...

As with all rumors, please take the following news item with a grain of salt until we can receive official confirmation or denial from Intel. It seems that AMD might have a few more months to get their high-end Phenoms ready as it's being whispered that Intel is going to hold back volume shipments of the QX9770 until the Feb-March time frame.“The quad-core 3.2GHz QX9770, which will be available at US$1,399 in thousand-unit quantities, is to replace the Core 2 Extreme QX9650 processor launched in November 2007, the sources noted. However, Intel is yet to phase out the 3.0GHz QX9650 despite the planned... This tidbit comes straight out of the rumor department, so remember to take it with a grain of salt:“AMD has recently notified its partners that the launch of higher-end quad-core Phenom processors, including the 9700 and 9900, will be postponed to the second quarter of 2008 from the original schedule of early 2008, according to sources at motherboard makers. However, whether AMD's triple-core Toliman series CPUs will also see delay will be the key decision for the company, since Toliman offers a high price/performance ratio compared with Intel's quad-core CPUs. A delay for Toliman will hurt AMD... Read more...
To say that the AMD K10 has suffered delays is an understatement.  Many in the industry were honestly expecting this holiday season to feature a heavyweight CPU bout for the ages, but sadly it looks like we'll have to wait just a little bit longer. While the entire world is getting ready for that bout, it seems that AMD has decided to transition many of their existing K8 CPUs over to the 65 nm manufacturing process.“The AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ will be the first to jump on the new 65nm K8 bandwagon with a 65W TDP. The previous Windsor-based chip of the same featured an 89-Watt TDP. AMD will also... Read more...
