Stuck with a notebook that could easily double as a frying pan after an hour or so of use? Unable to use it without heavy duty pants or a suitable pillow on your lap? Never fear, as NZXT is here to save your poor legs from getting scalded. As more and more companies shove higher-end components into smaller enclosures, waste heat buildup is becoming commonplace. In turn, more notebooks are emitting more heat than ever before, and it's our own legs paying the price. The Cryo S High Performance Notebook Cooler is aimed to give laps the world over some relief, providing ample cooling for notebooks... Read more...

When we think about ECS and their product lines, we typically expect a budget-minded approach.  Solid products at reasonable prices that don't exactly wow the consumer, but don't hit them hard in the wallet either.  The ECS X48T-A motherboard that we looked at a few weeks ago was one of the first steps by ECS to change that image, although a few missteps with the construction as well as some overclocking issues didn't overly sway us to their new way of thinking.  Thus, we were a bit surprised when we first heard about the ECS GeForce 9800 GTX+ Hydra - a twin pack... Even in the age of green computing and lower power 45nm silicon manufacturing technologies, thermal management, specifically heat mitigation, continues to be a challenge .   Maybe you're a dyed-in-the-wool overclocker or perhaps a silent computing buff that wants things whisper-quiet. Then again, even the average "Joe Sixpack" could probably appreciate how unobtrusive a computer can be and that, as savvy HH readers know, can only be achieved through robust, elegant cooling solutions.  In that vein and out of the Kingdom of Denmark comes Danamics with... Microsoft had all sorts of trouble with the reliability of its XBox 360. Tales of the "Red Ring of Death" gave potential buyers pause, and Microsoft spend a small fortune replacing defective units. One of the main reasons the game console was so fragile is that the 90nm scale GPU ran very hot. 65nm chips to the rescue!Microsoft will make available its Jasper version of XBox360 game consoles in August this year and has contracted dedicated chipmakers to build chips for the latest machine. Contracts for manufacturing, packaging and testing the 65nm Xenon microprocessors have gone to International... Read more...

A few years ago when Fossil released a PDA watch, our hearts skipped a beat.  Now Van Der Led is releasing a watch with a feature list that made our hearts palpitate:“The Van Der Led WM2 is a quad-band GSM watch with itty bitty 1.3-inch, 260k color touchscreen display, stereo Bluetooth, up to 240-hours of standby or 300-minutes talk, and 1GB of storage for a few of your MP3 or MP4 files.”For the time being this is the closest you can get to owning a watch that would make you feel like the star of a 007 movie.  If this watch garners some success and even carves out a little piece of the market for... Just in case you missed the new link at the top of the home page, we're here to let you know that we have just posted a new article in which we evaluate the features and performance of the Asetek LCLC, Low Cost Liquid Cooling system.  The LCLC may resemble other water cooling setups but it provides many features that set it apart from the pack.  Asetek has attempted to address nearly all of the traditional disadvantages of water cooling compared to air cooling.  First off, the LCLC is a completely sealed system, which means it comes completely pre-assembled.  This eliminates... Water cooling has traditionally been considered an extreme solution, pursued by enthusiasts looking for the best cooling performance to squeeze every last drop of performance from their systems. For a long time this wasn't far from the truth and you were unlikely to find a water cooling setup that wasn't hooked up to an overclocked rig. However, in recent years watercooling has become ever more mainstream as evidenced by the number of manufacturers producing entry-level kits. These kits often provide ease of installation and operation at the expense of performance and cost. They also eliminate... Read more...
It's not very often that we see innovation in a PC chassis.  Of course, just about every other component in a typical PC is enhanced or somehow improved on a regular basis, but chassis haven't really changed all that much in the last few years.  Aesthetically they have gotten more pleasing and diverse, new materials are being used, and there have been some acoustic improvements mostly due to the use of larger, low-RPM fans.  However, take away the fans and fascias and underneath most chassis are pretty similar.  In fact, it's not uncommon for the same chassis to be sold...
