Show of hands, how many of you remember the name Chaintech (or Walton Chaintech, if you prefer)? Don't beat yourself up if you've forgotten all about Chaintech, a once popular player in the motherboard and graphics business. The last time we featured a Chaintech product was in 2004, back when we reviewed the company's Apogee AA5700U graphics card. And the last Chaintech brand motherboard we tested was a 9CJS Zenith Series... in 2003. Chaintech officially quit the motherboard and graphics card markets in 2006, but word on the Web is that it's looking to make a comeback. According to DigiTimes, Walton... Read more...
Here's one thing we can all agree on: SSDs are awesome, and far superior to HDDs in almost every scenario imaginable. Here's another we can agree on: SSDs are still priced far too high for most to give them a second glance. For years now, solid state storage has been breaking benchmarks left and right, but SSDs are still considered a niche product because of the prohibitive pricing surrounding them. In order to bring SSD-like performance to your next computer without you having to actually pony up and pay for an SSD, Walton Chaintech has launched a unique new solution that combines the speed of... Yesterday, Digitimes reported that Chaintech was pulling out of the motherboard market, instead focusing on video card and memory products.  Well, this morning Chaintech would like to set the record straight.  Looks like they are not going anywhere. Chaintech Remains in Motherboard Business! "Chaintech Computer Co., Ltd claims today that it will continue its motherboard business. In addition, Chaintech announced its new name as Walton Chaintech Cooperation, following its 25% stake acquired by Walton Advanced Engineering, the leading IC testing and packaging house. Chaintech denies... Read more...

Chaintech AE6800 APOGEE (Turbo Version) @ Techniz: "The Chaintech GeForce 6800 256MB PCI-Express graphic card is great mid range graphic card. Hey all, here's your afternoon shot of tech related news. I've got a few machines to get working on, so I'll skip the chit chat for now and let you get straight to the good stuff... Chaintech SE6600G Review @ AMDZone "Aesthetically the SE6600G is not too different from other cards on the market, a blue PCB and a matching blue heatsink with a translucent fan adorn Nvidia's GPU. In addition to that Chaintech have put silver heatsinks over the memory modules on the PCB to give the memory a little extra cooling. What Chaintech have done seems to have worked as it is one of the best overclockers... Read more...
Well folks, my package finally arrived and I couldn't be happier with my results. So far I'm running it at a stable 2.34GHz, which is close to the speed of a 3800 . Not bad for a $155 "budget" CPU. I hope all your winter overclocking sessions go as smoothly :) ATake Phantom Robot ChipsMod IV Chipset Cooler @ BigBruin "There are certainly other coolers, but none of them can be compared to the ChipsMod IV's unique looks. As for the performance, that's marginal without the fan, giving only a 2 degree C advantage over the stock MSI heat sink. Add the fan on there, and that improves to... Read more...

Judging by the amount of "you have mail" notifications I have received over the past few hours, I think it is time for another shot of juice.  So, run over to the water cooler, grab a cold drink and shut the cubical door.  It is time for round two...  Chaintech SK8T800 Review @ AMD Zone "Well the big plus of the Chaintech is of course the low price.  Stability of the board was also good, and you get SATA RAID, 5.1 channel audio, and built in Ethernet as a part of the package.  You wouldn't see those options at this price point a year ago."  ATI... Chaintech Apogee AA5700U Redefining the meaning of mainstream By Robert Maloney March 15th,  2004 When we last checked in with NVIDIA before the holidays with our look at the 5900XT, we were surprised at its performance / price ratio.  Releasing the 5900XT no less than two months after the similarly priced 5700 Ultra raised some eyebrows however, as it seemed to sound an early death knell for the previous released 5700 Ultra cards. Still, some manufacturers are reluctant to completely give up on the 5700 Ultra, adding additional features in an effort to make the card more... Read more...
3-Way i875P "Canterwood" Shoot-Out MSI, DFI & Chaintech Square Off... By, Marco Chiappetta June 18, 2003           Intel's i875P "Canterwood", as well as the i865 "Springdale" chipsets, have generated quite a buzz within the enthusiast community and for good reason!  It has been almost three years since the release of the i850 chipset, and only now is there a viable alternative for users seeking peak performance from their Pentium 4 systems.  Sure, there was the i850E and Intel's first dual-channel DDR266 chipset...   The Chaintech 7NJS Zenith & Leadtek K7NCR18D-Pro Motherboards Nvidia's Nforce2 Chipset pushes out Dual Channel DDR By, Tom Laverriere December 16, 2002 When we think of motherboard chipsets, NVIDIA isn't always the first that comes to mind.  In fact, NVIDIA earns its stripes from their line of graphics chipsets and for good reason.  I would say only the enthusiasts and OEMs among us know that NVIDIA makes a motherboard chipset known as the nForce.  The first iteration of the nForce, proved itself to be a solid chipset backed by a reputable name.  Although most would...   The Chaintech 7VJL Motherboard Review KT333 and Gold, Lots of Gold By -Chris Angelini August 2nd, 2002 Someone over at Chaintech must have the Midas Touch.  Or, maybe they have been watching too many Dr. Dre music videos.  Regardless, everything we've seen from Chaintech lately has been heavily accented by gold.  Companies like ASUS, ABIT, MSI, and Gigabyte may have more corporate clout here in the United States, but Chaintech claims to be the fastest growing motherboard manufacturer in the world and is obviously sparing no expense to prove it.  The "bling bling"... The Chaintech A-GT61 GeForce 4 Ti 4600 Flashy Packaging with Substance! By - Robert Maloney May 2, 2002 There is an old saying that goes something like, "bigger is better".  This definitely seems to apply when talking about video cards. The GeForce 4 is the fourth generation in NVIDIA's GeForce line, and each new installment seems just that much bigger and better, than those that came before it. Today we are going to look at Chaintech's A-GT61.  This is Chaintech's "Special Edition" model using GeForce 4 Titanium 4600 technology, currently the flagship of their line... Read more...
