My head feels like a brick. My head feels like it got hit by a brick. In other words, being sick sucks. I need more sleep, so I'll keep this short... The DR16-B is capable of burning DVD /-R media at a blistering 16x, DVD /-RW at 4x and most importantly, dual-layer DVD media at 2.4x. Of course... Read more...
Hey folks, welcome back.  We're winding down the work week and ringing in the weekend here at HH.  It looks like we're not the only ones as the hardware reviewage is a little lite this morning.  Don't fret, we have a lot on tap for you, so be patient, we've got a nice line-up coming your way soon: LiteOn 8x DVD±R/ 4X ±RW SOHW-812S @ Bjorn3D: "Isn't it amazing to look where we are today with optical storage? It was not long ago when my Philips 2x CDRW drive was 'hot,' and the true proof of what a hardware geek I was. True, it took 30 minutes to burn a CD, and if you sneezed at... Read more...

Good morning friends, how is everyone doing?  Things around the Canadian portion of the HH labs have been fairly mundane so far today.  Between applying a few Ghost Images and taking a few pictures for a review, I think the coffee machine has been doing the brunt of the work ;)  Nonetheless, let's take a step out of the HH world and see what else is happening around the net.... We've taken a look at quite a few dual format DVD burners over the last few months, and found some to be better than others for various reasons.  Most, if not all, of the drives we've reviewed shined in one area, but were lacking in another.   One Hot Athlon Overclocking  Card From Outside Loop Computers As the old saying goes, "where there is a will, there is a way".  When AMD's Athlon first hit the market many were disappointed with the lack of user configuration options for the first round of Athlon Motherboards.  Still today, there aren't many boards out there that can do much in the way of overclocking the Athlon.  That didn't stop the good folks at Outside Loop from inventing a truly convenient way to overclock your Athlon processor in just about any motherboard imaginable.  With the twist...   One Hot Athlon Overclocking  Card From Outside Loop Computers We'll let the pictures say it all...   We dialed the Athlon straight up to 800MHz. with the Afterburner from Outside Loop.  This particular CPU we had, held stable throughout our tests for hours on end at this frequency.  Will you be able to hit this mark?  I don't know but the Afterburner will let you find out and some sort of overclock achievement is almost guaranteed with Athlons.  There just hasn't been a clean and easy way to achieve it, until now. Update  12/22/99: We used an Athlon 500... Read more...
