Azure customers are getting a welcomed safety upgrade. Microsoft announced Azure Information Protection, a service that works to secure a company’s data, particularly employee identities. This service was made possible through Microsoft's acquisition in November of Secure Islands, an “innovator in advanced information protection solutions”. 404: Weed not found? Not anymore, says Microsoft. Microsoft is turning some of those 404’s into 420’s. Microsoft is the first large corporation to jump into the legal marijuana market and the company just announced a partnership to begin offering software and services that track marijuana plants from “seed to sale.” The software is a new product in Microsoft’s cloud computing business. When we hear about IoT, or Internet of Things, it often relates to products like smart clothing, accessories or even home automation. Microsoft had a ton of new products and technologies to talk about at this past week's Build conference, but one area we haven't touched on up to this point is with the company's Azure cloud platform.
