Alright, it's more of a kiosk and less of a storefront, but Alienware is invading a Micro Center located in Paterson, New Jersey. In honor of the event, the Dell-owned company is hosting a LAN party, giving away a fair amount of free swag, and showcasing their various systems on Saturday, July 25. There's no word on whether or not its a BYOB event, but Alienware is promising to have plenty of its own machines around for enthusiasts and gamers to oggle. To be honest, this seems an odd move for the boutique computer OEM. While it's true that parent company Dell has cut deals with Walmart, Office... Read more...

With the advent of NVIDIA's SLI technology in 2004, gaming performance on the desktop was dramatically increased which allowed users to run games at higher resolutions with more image quality enhancements. Unfortunately for mobile users, the notebook platform was left behind with no immediate solution made available beyond a single flagship GPU. Fast forward two years and we find ourselves looking at a brand new mobile platform that features NVIDIA's proven nForce4 SLI chipset as well as two discrete graphics cards. The Alienware Aurora m9700 is the world's first 17" SLI capable... Read more...
The beige box; you had one, I had one, just about everyone and their mother had one. It wasn't that long ago either, that we all had our generic cases on display for no one to notice. Of course, this was back in the day when megahertz ruled, megabytes were plentiful, and a 56K modem was a bragging right. Fast forward a bit, and now we're running on high speed connections, Gigahertz is the word, and Gigabytes don't really seem that big. With all these new technical advances, it was only a matter of time before the boring beige box was given a makeover. A quick trip to just about any major hardware... Read more...
Gigabyte 3D Aurora Case Review @ Bjorn3D: "Lately, it seems like I have been changing my computer cases almost as often as I have been changing my oil. Gigabyte, well known for their motherboards and videocards, has just started to offer PC enclosures and their first endeavor into this realm is the 3D Aurora. Crafted of aluminum and featuring some great case cooling, the 3D Aurora is exactly what you would expect to see from a reputable... Read more...
