Hayao Miyazaki is often called the greatest among Japanese animators. He is so well known that fans of his needn't have his first name uttered; Miyazaki is enough. Still, comparing use of the iPad to masturbation? Hmmm ... Speaking in an interview for the newsletter (Neppuu) of his production company, Studio Ghibli, Miyazaki said he's not enamored with the magical iPad. Sunsoft has announced that Leiji Matsumoto's newest manga, Out of Galaxy Koshika, will debut on the Nintendo Wii's Shopping Channel on April 14th. Sorry, all, Japan only, at least for now. Sunsoft already released Princess Ai in January. Unlike Princess Ai, however, this is a totally new manga title. The first episode will cost 500 Wii points ($5). Subsequent episodes can be purchased for 200 Wii Points ($2) each. Leiji Matsumoto is probably best known as the creator of Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers), Space Pirate Captain Harlock, and Galaxy Express 999. I can definitely see hints of thos... We've always been more of  Robotech fans ourselves, but to many, the Gundam is the iconic anime giant mecha. As April 7th, 2009 is the 30th anniversary of the first anime series about Mobile Suits, Mobile Suit Gundam, an 18-meter (59-foot) Gundam statue will be built in Tokyo's Odaiba's Shiokaze Park this July. By the way, according to this site, it should actually be 18.5-meters tall to be life-size. The statue will be part of the "Mobile Suit Gundam 30th Anniversary Project."
