Microsoft Outs Gold Editions Of Nokia Lumia 830, Lumia 930
"The Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 smartphones get a high-end refresh with an anodized gold color. Starting soon, these two phones will be available in black or white with a premium gold finish," Microsoft said in a blog post.
Silliness aside (and before Apple's legal team sends us a nasty letter, let us clarify that there is no "VP of Gold" position at the Cupertino outfit), the gold color scheme does offer a more premium looking finish compared to the colorful alternatives that are available. But hey, what matters most is the hardware, right?
Towards that end, the Lumia 830 boasts a 5-inch display with a 1,280x720 resolution powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM. It also features 16GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD card slot, 0.9MP wide-angle front-facing camera, 10MP rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization, and a few other odds and ends.
The Lumia 930 bumps things up option for a Full HD 1080p panel (also 5 inches) powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU clocked at 2.2GHz and 2GB of RAM. It also has 32GB of built-in storage (but no card slot), 1.2MP front-facing camera, 20MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash, and a few other goodies.
Microsoft says the gold editions will be available in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and China, with pricing to vary by region and operator.
