Zotac Reveals New GeForce Cards At CeBIT

We knew Zotac was going green at CeBIT, but we had no idea it would take things this far. In an effort to draw attention to itself for playing nice with Mother Nature, Zotac has introduced the GeForce, which reportedly delivers 40 percent more power efficiency compared to other 9600GT cards. Basically, if you buy this card, you're getting all of the benefits of a GeForce 9600GT, but you'll be getting it while using 40 percent less energy (to the card, at least).

The device itself includes 64 stream processors, support for DirectX 10, OpenGL 2.1 and CUDA-based 3D games, and high-speed GDDR3 memory. Furthermore, you'll find an engine clock of 600MHz, a 1500MHz shader clock, 1800MHz memory clock, 512MB of GDDR3 RAM and two dual-link DVI ports.

 

In case that's just not enough Zotac for one day, the company is also introducing its GeForce GTS 250 AMP! Edition, GTS 250 512MB and GeForce GTS 250 1GB. The former is a slightly more powerful version of the GTS 250 than the latter two cards, as it touts a 750MHz engine clock compared to a 738MHz engine clock in the non-AMP! iterations. For what it's worth, the AMP! card has slightly higher speeds in the shader clock and memory clock, too. There's been no mention made yet on pricing, but you can pore over the full specification lists below.

The GTS 250 512mb will sell at a price point of $129 and the GTS 250 1gb will sell at a price point of $149. These cards are still G92s just tweaked and basically a new stepping so to speak. Basically a rebranded 9800GTX+ but with better thermals and sucks alot less juice due to the more efficient pcb design and only requiring one pcie 6pin power.

Im surprised HH didnt know some sort of pricing on the GTS 250 as heck ive known about that for 2 days by reading up on things at Xbit Labs.

Kinda like that 9600gt, but I wonder how loud that little fan is. Also Drago thanks for the info. I thought the 250 was a strait renaming. Didn't know they tweaked it.
