Yamaha's PDX-31: An iPod Stereo With Style

Apple's iPod and iPhone have garnered a huge amount of third-party attention. Accessory makers love these devices, and sound systems seem to be one of the more prevalent devices that are released. Most are rather common, with few sticking out above the rest. Even Apple had their own Hi-Fi system years back, but did away with it while allowing third-party companies to serve that demand.

But the Yamaha PDX-31 looks better than most, and has a stylish design that few others can replicate. This new unit, which will ship in red, black and gray, has twin-wall construction, a handy remote for controlling your device from the sofa, and an aux-input for connecting other devices. The PDX-31 remembers the volume level when you remove your portable device so the next time you dock it, the volume is set to that level, and internally it has two 3.25" speakers to drive home the music.

It's selling for $169.95, and while that's steep, it also acts as a piece of home decor.

PDX-31 Joins the Growing Range of Yamaha Speaker Docks for iPod, iPhone and MP3 Players

The PDX-31 offers reinforced, dual wall “box-within-a-box” construction with twin 3 1/4 -inch speakers to provide rich dynamic bass response for powerful, clean sound from any music library.

The PDX-31 is compact, light enough and cosmetically versatile to be placed anywhere in the home. The flat-top design provides an attractive and sophisticated touch to any home interior. The supplied small, handy remote control works like your iPod controls, making it easy to browse menus and select songs.
