Apparently she had acquired his password from one of his co-workers, so she logged into the game --- and deleted his avatar. While some might say, "so what," she's been arrested on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data.|
I think the fact that she got into his account is the reason that she has been arrested. |

Isn't this one of the signs of the apocalypse? |

are the cops supposed to get people that are criminals? sometimes i wonder if they don't have anything else to do.... |
I wonder if the guy had to pay virtual alimony. Oh wait...she killed him! Never mind. |

I think the fact that she got into his account is the reason that she has been arrested. Bob I agree how do you get arrested for virtual Murder!

I hope she gets off: It doesn't sound like she "hacked" his account. The article doesn't even say if she resorted to social engineering to get the password from his coworker or if she just told him who she was and asked for it. If the guy wanted his account to be secure: He shouldn't be giving friends his password. I can see explaining the situation to the game company, and getting his account restored, maybe. But filing police charges because you're a virtual dumbass who trusts coworkers with an account you obviously value? |
