Velocity Micro Reveals 8" And 10" Android Tablets

If there's one thing to be learned from the HP TouchPad, it's that people love cheap. The iPad has a dominating lead in the overall tablet space, but nothing gets the masses worked up like a fire sale on a previously-comparably-priced item. Velocity Micro is the latest on the block with cheap options for those who aren't entirely sold on the iPad, with the new Cruz T408 and Cruz T410 designed to be the fastest, most feature laden tablets on the market for under $300.

The 8" Cruz T408 and the 10" Cruz T410 will ship with a 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU, front-facing cameras, 802.11n Wi-Fi, a premium software suite including full versions of Angry Birds Rio and QuickOffice, Flash 10.3, Android 2.3 and a 1-year warranty. The Cruz T408 and T410 will be available by the end of September from most major electronics retailers in the US, and while they aren't undercutting one of Lenovo's new sub-$200 options, they're still a solid option for those looking to save a bit.
