good idea |

Hadn't heard of BD-Live until now. A great idea and even better sales point now for the PS3. Still the thing that would tempt me the most to buy one is the upcoming Gran Turismo 5. |

i wonder when they will have bluray drives for pc with this feature |
|
Considering all it takes is a software update to add this functionality, I would image it won't be long before Blu-Ray drives and burners get updated drivers/software as well. If it was this simple though, I wonder why they didn't do it sooner? Unless there wasn't any Blu-Ray media that had this feature on it yet. |

I do not see this as a performance improvement of the console.Seems more like a marketing gimmick to make others buy the console |
|
it does seem like a gimmick |
|
they always launch something that seems cool the first time but if you have a ps3 and use that feature for the first time, you will see that it isn't much of a deal |

This is the advantage the PS3 has over the other Blu-Ray players. And it also highlights one major advantage of HD-DVD. All HD-DVD players had a network connection with the ability to upgrade a requirement. Most Blu-Ray players do not. So early adopters will not be able to use the new features. But these people knew what they were getting into and new the advantages of the PS3 so it's their own problem, and I'm sure most will just buy a newer player later anyway. |
