Ultra Products has just announced a new line of fully modular power supplies, dubbed the X4. We have actually had one of the 1050W units in house for a couple of weeks now and think it is a solid product. Our Ultra X4 has been used to power Core 2, Lynnfield, and Bloomfield test-beds for recent articles, and we really took it to task on an octal-core Intel-powered rig complete with dual Radeon HD 4870 X2s and the unit never faltered once, despite some hefty workloads. Full details of today's announcement are below, along with some specs, availability info, and pricing...

I had an Ultra PSU before and I loved it. It was modular and had a very shiny and good looking case. I would definitely buy an other. |

I put an Ultra modular PS in a system I built for a family member a year ot two back. I was *very* impressed with the quality. |

I have never used one of them, but I'll remember the name and try one or two of them out now. I like the lifetime warranty and that they give you Velcro straps and Zip Ties with it. |

I have an Ultra X3 1200W power supply. The original one died unexpectedly after about 6 months. I expected a lot of hassle getting them to honor their warranty. I called them once, and all they wanted was for me to e-mail them my purchase receipt. Within 10 minutes of doing that, I had an RMA number and 10 minutes later got an e-mail with a shipping tracking number for the replacement PS. The new one has been working for about 8 months now with no problems. They definitely stand behind their warrantees. I would highly recommend any Ultra product. |
