I know the AMD tablet isn't going to be for sale, but I wondered about your impression on battery usage. Did you play the games long enough that you could tell the battery level dropped?

Also you briefly mentioned that it stayed cool. Could you feel it getting warmer during your gaming sessions?

I have no real impression of battery life--I don't know the size of the battery that was in the tablet and it was plugged in to power for the vast majority of testing, so I would only be guessing.

As for the heat, there was a warm spot on the tablet after extended use, but when AMD built the platform, it was strictly for testing purposes, and as such, some design decisions were made that would never happen in a retail product. For example, the SoC and backlight transformer were right next to each other in the Discovery tablet--two of the warmest running components. So yeah, I could feel a warm spot, but both the SoC and backlight were contributing to the warmth.

Glad to hear the temps didn't get too warm. Some warmth is to be expected, but it sounds like AMD has a good handle on heat, especially since you mentioned that it's passively cooled design.

Nice show Guys!

Do you think Nvidia will ever try to make a ARM and x86/64 compatible cpu/gpu chip? The Tegra 4 is Great but besides the Surface 2, Nvidia Shield and various Tegra Note 7's I haven't seen it in many devices. AMD has the Next Gen Consoles, PC Offerings and now Beema and Mullins. Intel has Baytrail, Haswell and the PC/Server Market. It appears Nvidia needs to do something because their competition all seem to have a way to stay relevant going forward. I was hoping for a Tegra 4 based phone, nothing is available because of the US LTE compatibility thing, I think.

Interesting concept of Nvidia doing x86. One hurdle for them is Intel would have to grant them a license as they did with AMD. Would Intel be willing to do that is the $64,000 question. Maybe they would, to put more pressure on AMD, but I think more likely they wouldn't want another competitor on the field.
