The unique design featuring three NVIDIA GPUs enables the Qosmio X305-Q708 and X305-Q706 laptops to deliver scorching gaming performance by combining the horsepower of two discrete GeForce 9800M GTS GPUs with NVIDIA SLI® technology, and allows the option of switching to a quiet operation mode with NVIDIA Hybrid SLI technology. In Hybrid SLI operation, the powerful 9800M GTS GPUs are powered down and graphics operation is transferred to the GeForce 9400M GPU. As a result, Toshiba Qosmio laptops are able to deliver record-breaking gaming performance at high resolutions, while enabling a quiet state when powering other types of Windows Vista applications.|
Dear Santa.... |
what the point really? your stuck to the wall becasue your battery can't handel all the load. Why not just get a desktop???? |
The point?: Chics dig hybrid SLI. Wait... I could be thinking about European sports cars. nm. |
I think it's so your not stuck to the wall. If your not gaming or on battery the 9400m kicks in and the 9800s turn off. Seems like a good Idea.

Sweet Toshiba Laptop! |
Other than this thing is like 4" thick......they are HUUUUGE |
To compete with netbooks right? |
actually they are trying to compete with the iPod shuffles I think...just with minor added functionality |
The point of a gaming laptop = Playing wow at coffee shops to attract hot horn rim rockin geek chix!!! |
That sounds pretty cool. |
Sound good but why couldnt they use ATI graphics? Looks like someone is trying to compete with ATI and Alienware to me. |
I'd choose this over that anyday http://www.alienware.com/products/m17-notebook.aspx?SysCode=PC-LT-M17&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT |
Gah...... tanka don't be a fanboy on me man.... i prefer ATI graphics too but its not to say nVidia-based graphics are terrible. The Qosmio system is definitely powerful gaming system and cheaper than the Alienware taboot. Why go Alienware when its a few hundred more when you can get similiar performance cheaper with the Toshiba? Not to mention that Toshiba is much more efficient in its mobility (the whole tri-graphics feature -- disabling the main Gpu in battery/low-power situations) This and the Toshiba has a more powerful GPU for gaming purposes |

I could definately imagine myself buying one of those. My first NB was toshiba satellite 5205 703s if I remember correctly and I was pretty happy with it. Now my asus is getting older and even though I do not play a lot of games these days - sometimes i like to do so... And I travel 10 months out of a year - that is why not desktop. It is harder to pack :). |
