Can you handle another
Wii-related peripheral in your house? With so
many plastic guitars, drumsets, Wiimote cases, Wii Zapper holsters,
fishing accessories, etc., we're beginning to wonder if there's any end
to the madness in sight. Of course, the peripheral industry is a
thriving one, and
Nintendo's choice to add motion sensitivity to its
latest console has certainly made third-party suppliers happy.
The latest piece of must-have hardware to surface is the skateboard you
see above, which will come packaged with Tony Hawk's latest title. It
has been quite some time since Mr. Hawk was featured in a skateboard
video game, and really, could you imagine a better comeback story than
this? Taking the
Wii Fit premise to all new heights will be Tony Hawk
Ride, a groundbreaking game scheduled to be fully revealed at E3 early
next month. Oh, and the best part? Wii owners won't be the only ones
enjoying this, as we're told that it will be available for PlayStation
3 and Xbox 360 as well.
As you can likely imagine, Tony has been longing to create a
peripheral-based skate title for awhile, but only now has the
technology advanced enough to make it possible. Judging by the images
alone, we'd say we're all in for quite a treat come early June. Now,
let's just hope the ship date isn't too far out.
