Thermaltake SpinQ CPU Cooler Receives CES Nod
Thermaltake today announced their new CPU cooler, SpinQ received CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award as officially announced earlier on CES website. Judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade press, SpinQ was commented as an outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products:
“SpinQ CPU cooler takes the traditional design of a CPU cooler to a whole new level by incorporating an ingenious rotating tooling method to achieve the never-before-seen swirl outlook.”
CES Innovations Award is a widely renowned consumer technology awards program since 1976. Sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the voice of industrial design, committed to advancing the profession through education, information, community and advocacy, the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards recognize achievements in product design and engineering.
“Offering the best PC cooling devices with not just best performance, but also exceptional styles that express the professionalism of the hardware users has always been our goal. It is also what Thermaltake is famed for over the past few years in the cooling industry.” Thermaltake Global Strategic Marketing Director, Joseph Lin commented.
Thermaltake SpinQ will be displayed at the 2009 International CES, which runs January 8-11, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase will feature honorees by product category at the Sands Expo and Convention Center/The Venetian, Booth #72062. Best of Innovations honoree products will also be displayed at the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center, next to Experience CEA and at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES on Tuesday, January 6.
The Innovations entries are judged based on the following criteria:
- Engineering qualities, based on technical specs and materials used
- Aesthetic and design qualities, using photos provided
- The product's intended use/function and user value
- Unique/novel features that consumers would find attractive
The killing style of SpinQ is created by a series of carefully designed structure that offer topnotch cooling performance at the same time. It is the new bomb of PC cooling market from Thermaltake that no trend settler or hardware enthusiasts would want to miss out!

Someone here was talking about this cooler a few weeks ago. Not sure who it was. It has a good look to it. I'd like to see how it performs. |

it will never compete with watercooling but as long as it works and it drop about 20% of heat compared to any other coolers i'll buy it!. |

Twas me bob. If you remember, it caught my eye because it appeared smaller than the popular 120mm coolers that won't fit in my mini tower. I ended up getting a Zalman 9500 AT2 though which I've owned b4, but the base now comes with an absoultely incredible looking mirror finished/polished contact surface. |
Good to hear you got one. Zalman makes quality stuff. I still have my old flower sink in my girls rig. |

Indeed bob we were talking about this cooler a few weeks back. It certanly has in tintresting design, but i would think the smaller fan would be louder than a normal 120 for the same amount of cooling |
