Sony Releasing PS3 Titles Digitally and on Disc Simultaneously with PSN Day 1 Digital Program

Gamers chomping at the bit to get their hands on the latest PS3 titles who prefer a digital download to a physical disk are getting good news from Sony; the company announced the new PSN Day 1 Digital program, which will let users download hot titles through the PlayStation Network on the same day they become available at retailers.

In October, Sony is releasing the following titles for digital download:

Resident Evil 6
(Available for download on October 2nd – $59.99)
NBA 2K13
(Available for download on October 2nd – $59.99/$53.99 for PS Plus members, with pre-order)*
Dishonored
(Available for download on October 9th – $59.99/$53.99 for PS Plus members, with pre-order)*
DOOM 3: BFG Edition
(Available for download on October 16th – $39.99/$35.99 for PS Plus members, with pre-order)*
007: Legends
(Available for download on October 16th – $59.99)+
Medal Of Honor: Warfighter
(Available for download on October 23rd – $59.99)
Need For Speed: Most Wanted
(Available for download on October 30th – $59.99/$53.99 for PS Plus members, with pre-order)*
Assassin’s Creed III
(Available for download on October 30th – $59.99)*


Games above marked with an asterisk are available for pre-order, and those tagged with a plus sign include a 10% discount for PS Plus members during the first week they’re available.

PSN Day 1 Digital

It’s a little unclear if this is just a promotion or a new way of doing business for Sony, but in any case, get ready to download some sweet new titles from the comfort of your own home this October.

I like this but... digital copies -should- cost less than their off-the-shelf counterparts. I'm guessing this isn't done so as to appease the retailers, but it sucks nonetheless.

i Didn't but iy but it digital copy. so it really costly but  will but as soon as possible.

I would agree, it should be cheaper to buy the digital version.
