We've heard plenty of rumors about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S III smartphone and now we have a good idea when Samsung might make this phone official. This morning, Samsung sent out invitations to its upcoming Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in London. The event is scheduled for May 3.
Although we won't know official specs or details about the upcoming device until the event, Samsung is inviting attendees to "Come and meet the next Galaxy," which we're assuming will be the Galaxy S III smartphone. The Galaxy S II smartphone is expected to feature a 4.8-inch full-HD 1080p display with a 1.5GHz quad-core Exynos chipset. The phone could also feature a ceramic finish similar to the HTC One S.
Previously, Samsung indicated it wanted to shorten the gap between the phone's actual announcement and its launch date. Samsung has also indicated the Galaxy S III will launch in over 50 markets or cities simultaneously. Given the upcoming announcement, we're hopeful we'll be able to get our hands on this hot smartphone sooner rather than later.
