Samsung Teases New Stylus-ready Device In Video

Samsung's UNPACKED event is coming up on August 29 in Berlin, and the company is already teasing us with a video of what we can expect to see. Promising to make "magical moments come alive," the video shows a stylus-ready device.

A few weeks ago, a Samsung spokesperson confirmed plans to unveil the next generation of its Galaxy Note phablet during a press conference at the IFA trade show in Berlin. Although no features have been confirmed, the Galaxy Note II is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and a quad-core Exynos processor. The newest Galaxy Note could also feature a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera.

During the company's press event for the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, Samsung revealed it has already sold more than 10 million Galaxy Note smartphone/tablet hybrids around the world. It's expected that Samsung could enjoy even greater success with the second-generation Galaxy Note. The first-generation Galaxy Note features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor, 32GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel camera.

10 million? That seems surprising. A hyrbid between the two (tablet and phone( seems so ineffectual to me. It's just big enough to be inconvenient, and just small enough that it might as well be a (smaller sized) phone.

Maybe its a teaser for a new model of the galaxy note.

The processing capability combined with the solid hardware specs and memory makes this a very solid device. Add the versatility/utility of a stylus and you have a very nice business oriented mini-tablet. Big enough to be functional and mall enough to be portable.

Yeah exactly. I would hate to have a phone that couldn't comfortably fit into my pocket, but having the larger screen with a stylus could be extremely convenient.

I haven't heard of a stylus being used for awhile. It's more accurate than using your finger though.

The galaxy notes on T-Mobile etc I have seen (5.3 I think) all have a stylus the commercial shows people drawing on them. Either way for my little business using my smart phone is becoming more and more mandatory now. SO one of the especially with a stylus would be awesome.
