Samsung Reveals Summer 2010 Notebook And Netbook Lineup

As the week of continual laptop launches continues, Samsung is joining Gateway, Acer and a bunch others in the field by pushing out a whole slew of new machines as well. The company's summer 2010 mobile PC lineup is aimed mostly at back-to-school, boasting multiple netbook options under three pounds and laptops made for multi-media consumption.

Starting things off is the Samsung R40, a 14" black multi-media laptop, along with the 15" R540, which features a Blu-ray player, an HDMI output and discrete graphics from ATI. Both feature a well-spaced, roomy keyboard with a numeric keypad integrated in the R540 model, large multi-gesture touchpad and rounded, smoother edges,


Then there's the upgraded R530-11, which has a Core i3 CPU and NVIDIA discrete graphics card with a starting price of $799. If you're looking for something smaller, there's the N220 and N230 netbooks, with the latter boasting an ultra-thin design with a shell that weighs just 2.2lbs and a battery good for 7 hours of life. The N220 showcases the Pointillist pattern in a polished green gradated color with chrome accents, up to 10 hours of battery life and still comes in weighing less than three pounds.

In addition, Samsung’s N150 netbook, an extension of the NC10 series, will be upgraded to the N150-11BL now available in a matte black finish with red accents that resists fingerprints and a non-glare screen. It will feature up to 10 hours of battery life, which just slightly beats the 9.5 hours available on the semi-rugged NB30.
