Samsung Makes ATIV Book 9 Plus Official with Intel’s Haswell and Killer QHD+ Display

Earlier this week, we posted a story about Samsung’s upcoming ATIV Book 9 Plus ultrabook and said that, according to a listing we saw on B&H, the device would be available on August 20th. Samsung reached out to correct and adjust our expectations: the ATIV Book 9 Plus will be available for pre-order in the U.S. on August 18th for $1,399, but there’s no published date on its actual availability.

However, the specs we found appear to be accurate; the ATIV Book 9 Plus will feature an Intel Core i5-4200U (up to 1.6GHz) processor (Haswell), Intel HD Graphics 4400, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and 128GB SSD. The display is an impressive 13.3-inch touchscreen LED QHD+ display with a resolution of 3200x1800 that tilts back to 180 degrees.

Samsung also announced the ATIV Tab 3, a 10.1-inch tablet (1366x768) with 5-point capacitive touch and S Pen that runs Windows 8. It runs an Intel Atom Z2760 (up to 1.8GHz) with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 64GB SSD storage, and 720p HD front and 2MP rear cameras.

The tablet weighs 1.28 pounds and offers micro HDMI, micro USB 2.0, and a headphone/mic combo jack. It’ll cost $699.99, which includes a Bluetooth keyboard/cover, with availability in stores on September 1st.

Both devices feature SideSync, which allows users to “seamlessly switch from working on their PC to their GALAXY smartphone by simply linking the two devices via a USB cable or even over WiFi”.
