Ever heard of RED? That's the company making those crazy high-resolution 4K EPIC cameras that all the fancy filmmakers seem to be using these days. But it's the 4K part here that we want to point out; while RED's 4K cameras are wildly small for capturing that much detail, what about this guy? A Canadian company by the name of Point Grey just launched what it's calling the "world's smallest 4K USB 3.0 camera." It's absolutely tiny, and is designed to capture 4096x2160 color images at 21 frames per second. The package is "ice-cube sized," and it can connect to PCs via SuperSpeed USB 3.0.
The FL3-U3-88S2C features Sony's new IMX121 sensor with "Exmor R" back-illuminated CMOS architecture, and the whole thing measures just 29x29x30mm. The price? A mere $945. Time to get yourself a 4K camera you can fit in your pocket, no?
