2-4 weeks isn't really a major delay, so I don't think there is much cause for concern. Would someone be so kind as to inform me of the differences between Intel's P45 chipset and their X48? In the past the X series chipset has represented Intel's flagship chipset. Will the P45 bring anything new to the table that the X48 didn't? |

I believe the P45 replaces the P35. The X38 is still the top chipset until X48 replaces that soon. |

Since the X48 was delayed so much,I am not surprised at all of the P45 delay. The BIG difference between the P45 and the X38(X48) chip is that it comes with an ICH10 southbridge and this means integrated support for wifi into the SB. The X48 is only a 'cherry picked' X38,but from the tests I've seen,it really overclocks better, and the X48 bios from the selected motherboads have much more tweaking settings for the RAM than the X38.You can also flash a X38 board with a X48 bios, because it is,basically the same motherboard |
