Nvidia CFO David White Calls It Quits

David White, Nvidia's Chief Financial Officer, will have all the time in the world to sunbathe at the beach and sip on piña coladas this summer. Or at least that's what we would do if we handed in our resignation papers, as White recently did. White, who is leaving the GPU maker "for personal reasons," will remain with Nvidia until the end of the month. After that, where the 55-year-old goes is anyone's guess.

"I want to thank David for his many great contributions to Nvidia," said Jen-Hsun Huang, Nvidia President and CEO. "I'm grateful for the counsel and leadership he has provided."

White, 55, was hired by Nvidia in February 2009. He will be replaced by interim CFO Karen Burns, 43, corporate controller and vice president of tax.

"Karen is a broadly respected veteran of Nvidia and knows her business well," Huang added. "Her experience, her understanding of our business, and her leadership will be a tremendous asset to us during this transition."

Despite Nvidia's optimism in Burns as an interim replacement, the company's stock dropped by as much as 6.5 percent in extended trading following the announcement, Bloomberg reports.

Darn I guess this is one more job I wont be getting a call back about...

Maybe he knows something. Wait and see if the other shoe drops.

Yeah; I agree on that Thunderbird, a CFO leaving after what a year and a half almost. That seems suspicious to me either way. We will see what comes of it when CEO's, directors, board members etc leave it is one thing, but when the head finance officer leaves it is often another, and not for good reasons for a companies outlook in the near future.
