Nokia's Latest Flagship is the 5-inch Lumia Icon, Exclusive to Verizon on February 20

Sometimes, it feels like some companies keep a potential product on hand just in case it needs to be launched to help dampen some fire. In Lumia Icon's case, that fire is yesterday's rumor that Nokia is soon to be getting into the Android market, with a supposed reveal to happen at this month's Mobile World Congress.

Hastened release or not, Nokia's Lumia Icon is an attractive-looking Windows Phone device from both an aesthetics and features standpoint. A major highlight is the fact that it bundles in a 20 megapixel PureView camera, which like the 41 megapixel Lumia 1020, utilizes Zeiss optics. Other multi-media perks include 4 "high-performance" mics (which utilize Nokia's Rich Recording), full 1080p resolution, and optical image stabilization on the camera.

Under the Lumia Icon's hood is a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of memory, 32GB of storage (and 7GB of cloud storage), a 2420mAh battery (9 hours video; 16.4 hours talk; 75 hours music), NFC, 802.11a~ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a front camera that's much more modest than the one at the back: 1.2 megapixel (1280x960).

If the Lumia Icon sounds like the right phone for you, you'd better be fine with sticking-with or moving to Verizon; this exclusive phone will be made available there on February 20 at a price of $199.99 (under 2-year contract).
