The band readily admits keeping volumes 2 - 4 off BitTorrent sites will be tough, as they say in the Torrent release notes: "Undoubtedly you'll be able to find the complete collection on the same torrent network you found this file." But encourage, don't discourage the band. This is the sort of thing we want more, not less, bands trying.

Ahhh! It was radiohead! that's it. I had another post around here on the forum regarding what they did but though it was a dif band...Guess not =P. I really do think dropping record labels is the best way to go. Only for extremely well known bands that is. They could make a lot more if they just sold their albums digitally through their own web site....They'd take in all the profits for themselvse instead of feeding record companies (I HATE THE RIAA!). Although releasing it on bittorrent is a rather bold move...I like the idea NIN trying to break barriers...Let's just see how well it works when they try to sell the other 3 volumes via the net. |
