Nikon added the Nikon 1 V2 to its Nikon 1 System lineup. This camera is designed to strike a balance between portability and performance, giving users both automatic and manual controls. The V2 features a new grip, built-in flash, and the addition of a Command Mode Dial. The Nikon 1 V2 uses an Advanced Hybrid Autofocus system with a 73-point AF array. You can capture images at approximately 15 frames per second for up to 45 frames using this camera.
The Nikon 1 V2 features a 14.2-megapixel CX-format CMOS Sensor and the EXPEED 3A image processing engine. This camera also has an ISO range of 160-6400 to help you capture good images in a variety of lighting situations.
Some of the new shooting modes included with the Nikon 1 V2 include Enhanced Motion Snapshot Mode, Best Moment Capture Mode, and Advance Movie Mode. With Enhanced Motion Snapshot Mode, you can capture a slow-motion movie along with a single image. The Best Moment Capture Mode lets you use Slow View to slow down an image during capture. With the Advance Movie Mode, you can capture 1080p HD video as well as high-resolution stills at the same time.
On the back of the Nikon 1 V2, you'll find a 921,000-dot, 3.0-inch LCD display. This camera is compatible with all 1 NIKKOR lenses and with the WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter. The Nikon 1 V2 will be available in November for about $900 with a 10-30mm kit lens. A body only configuration will also be available for about $800.
Nikon also added the AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/4G ED VR telephoto zoom lens to its f/4 lens series and the SB-N7 Speedlight to its lineup. The AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/4G ED VR lens will be available in November for $1,399.95. The Speedlight is expected to ship in January for about $160.
