I don't know. As much as I enjoy gaming on my iPhone, I have other options too so it's just my go-to for when I'm away from the PC and consoles, so maybe I don't appreciate this as much. I just think with the control limitations, we're just going to get better and better looking 3D vignettes. The 2D games are really creative in the appstore, but all the 3D games are either well-done on-rails shooters or really clunky 3rd person shooters, and it's really hard to make good ones. The 4 best 3D games I've played on iOS are Infinity Blade and Dark Meadows which are almost identical in design, and Dead Space and Mass Effect Infiltrator, which are also almost identical in design. I'd rather they'd focus on more creative uses of the format than on cramming pretty graphics into a game you barely can control. |
