Motorola’s Bionic Smartphone May Launch Later Than Originally Expected

Motorola’s next hot smartphone for Verizon Wireless, the Droid Bionic, could be facing delays. According to Reuters, Motorola Mobility has changed the launch target date for the Bionic to this summer. A summer launch could potentially mean the phone will make its debut a quarter later than originally expected.

In January, Motorola promised the Bionic would hit shelves in the second quarter. Recently, however, Motorola said it plans to sell the Bionic this summer. Summer officially starts June 21, which is just days before the end of the second quarter.

Reasons for the potential delay include a possible change to the Bionic’s form after it was shown off at CES in January. It also appears that Motorola may add new features to the phone before it launches.

The Droid Bionic will have 512MB of RAM, a dual-core processor, front- and rear-facing cameras, a 4.3-inch qHD display, and more.
