I'm still not sure why Microsoft needs their own retail stores... With the exception of the Apple Stores, I can't think of another chain where the sales-monkeys are aware of anything outside of the Windows world. Heck... do a search for Ubuntu on NewEgg and the only hit you get is a 4TB blade server, which NewEgg then tries to sell you as a combo deal with a copy of 32-bit Windows. |

If you can't beat them... Not quite the same in this case though. It's more like if you can't beat them, steal them. Kinda seems especially relevant for MS with Windows 7 looking awfully familiar, doesn't it? |

3vi1, agree with you. There's no point to a Microsoft store. Microsoft just doesn't have the same oomph in their hardware that apple does (though the new Zune is great). @ Crisis Causer. Why not, that's the strategy that's worked for them in the past. :) |
