Kodak Unveils 1080p, Image-Stabilized HD Pocket Camcorder

Kodak announced a new Zi8 Pocket Video Camera that can capture video in 1080p HD. The Zi8's predecessors, the Kodak Zi6 and the weather-resistant Kodak Zx1, maxed out at 720p. In addition to recording 1080p video, the Zi8 can capture 5 megapixel still images with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

This slim pocket video camera is designed to help users capture life’s important memories at the touch of a button—the camera doesn’t have a lens cap, dials to turn, or settings to adjust that will hinder the ability to quickly capture video.
