Kodak Adds to EasyShare Line with Z915

Kodak expanded its EasyShare line of digital compact cameras with the new EasyShare Z915. This 10-megapixel camera has a 10x image stabilized optical zoom lens (35–350 mm) and a 2.5-inch LCD. You’ll also find Kodak’s Smart Capture feature on this camera, which promises high quality images by analyzing scenes and applying the most appropriate camera settings. Smart Capture also applies Kodak’s Perfect Touch processing to the image to enhance highlight and shadow areas.

Kodak touts the Z915 as having a best-in-class click to capture speed of less than 0.3 seconds. With this speed, you’ll be able to capture action shots without delay. For low-light shooting conditions, the Z915 supports an ISO up to 1600. Face detection locates faces within a portrait shot and automatically adjusts camera settings accordingly.

The Z915 has a number of built-in editing features. For example, with the Z915, you can crop pictures, add text and sound tags, rotate an image, and more directly from the camera. By adding text and sound tags to images, you’ll be better equipped to find and organize those shots later using Kodak EasyShare software. A panorama stitch mode on the camera can combine up to three shots into a single, larger picture. You can also turn your pictures into a multimedia slideshow directly from the camera. The Z915 has pre-loaded sound themes and creative transitions to bring your pictures to life.

In addition to still images, the Z915 can capture continuous VGA video (640 × 480) at 30 fps with sound. You can save single frames from videos to email to family and friends.

The Z915 has 32MB internal memory and runs on AA batteries. Look for the Z915 in April for just under $200. The Z915 will be available in red, blue, black, and gray.
