Hey Guys, my name is Mario Gastelum. I am the Director at Diamond. Diamond has been working really hard to bring high performance graphics products. We are proud to support HotHardware in this Monthly contest. In addition, the system you see here is a pc that even if you don't win it, it is a gamers dream delight that you can order from SmoothCreations. We have teamed up with them to offer high performance turn key gaming systems. Watch out next month, you may see another wicked gaming rig. The guys at SmoothCreations really know how to turn a PC into a work of art.

Thanks, Mario!  There's nothing like both making people happy and getting your name out there.Yes

Sounds great Mario!!

Thumbs Up, HH !!! :D

Thanks Guys, But we really have to give credit to HH. These guys really work hard and do a phenominal job in supporting the gaming community. Including in busting out the latest and greatest toys for us gamers.

Thanks for the great contest! If I won this I would be the coolest granny ever!!

Gentlemen,

We ARE watching this area of the forum for reference in the contest and you're ALL slacking :)

Most Active - LAME! :)

I won't let you down Davo! :)

I woder how many people put in just 1 post and never came back? They are missing out on a very informative board.

Sorry Davo. I will try to step it up a notch. I don't like posting unless I have something worthwhile saying. That is why I average about 1-2 posts a day.

Hehehe.. no need to apologize dudes.  Just making sure you're all awake!  This new rig is going to ROCK!

I will post whenever I have time,so the board stays active!

I'm awake guys!  Though it's now finals week, so I gotta hit the books.

Sorry Davo, It looks like I won't have a chance in this contest, and I won't be able to participate in posting this month and probably May as well. It's time for me to look into Colleges and Universities and it is a tough thing. I just found out that one of the schools that I want to go to costs $50000 per year plus housing and food. :(. It would be the best school out there though. I hope you guys good luck, I must save up some money for school, since it will be hear very soon. (In a year). I also must study a lot so I won't have time to talk much. So yeah, good luck guys in the contest.

BTW, there might be a missunderstanding here, i am not leaving the site, it's just that I won't be as very active, but I'll stay here. :) No worries, I'll post every now and then.

We understand,peti1212,and I hope you will get to the University that you like!

Getting into a good school is better than winning a sweet computer... Good luck!

id rather win a blue genie than get into mit :-P id learn on my own   (which you can actually) plus undergrad is worthless. grad school is the important one.

If school was important I'd be studying for finals right now instead of coming here.  Oops.  Well, I have none today so I'm taking the day off.Stick out tongue

I disagree, companies look for college grads more than high school grads.

Anyway, instead of discussing the new contest rig in the skulltrail post, lets discuss it here!

Is it benefitial to have an AMD card and AMD processor?  I have an AMD processer with an nVidia card.

lol, i was refering to undergrad compared to grad. when going to grad school ive seen people go from undergrand community college to harvard, in fact alot of people dont go to good undergrad schools to save money for their grad school.

and p.s. no difference if u have an intel with nvidia or intel with amd, and vica versa.

Not sure if you are serious. But the answer to the question about AMD cards and processors is no. Only "beneficial" for fanboys. Wink

Your rig is fine. It isn't like you lose 30fps in games because the hardware doesn't like each other.

This system is good for any person,it does not matter if he/she is an Intel or AMD fanboy.

I love both; I'm a polygamist. lol Big Smile

Kind of wished they used the Cosmos S instead. But I'm not complaining. Still has amazing cooling capabilities.

these custom painted cases are the nicest available!

Yeah, but for fanboys like me it's nice to have a high performance AMD system.  That way I can rub it in the face of the Intel fanboys who get mad at me when I wear my free AMD cap that came with my CPU.  I love to stategically pull that baby out.

Ok, I have a question. Let's just say that you have signed up the the RSS fee daily update email subscription thing. I receive it every day, and the rules state that if you sign up you get an entry into the contest. If I do not participate in the contest by posting, am I still eligible if I am getting the emails and I am subscribed?

He ask's in a post. Ironic.

I see an aspiring high school senior...well by now you should've already picked the college of your choice...as a Columbia Engineering student I say GOOD LUCK ON YOUR TRAVELS TO YOUR CHOSEN COLLEGE

Maybe you will get this computer and not have to worry about getting an laptop like I have :-p

I would love to win this rig but I,m not likely to qualify.Im not sure where to post in re: to the forum in general. Should I be posting more in the News section as far as feedback and or hardware areas as to personal experiances to with new hardware or overclocking and such. I always read other peoples post and the and RSS feeds.Always read others and new hardware reviews for info so I can make decisions on my new sytem build which hopefully will happen this Summer. But given my current Rig specs not any news there to interest anyone here.Hey maybe I,ll get lucky and win this new Beast then I can be a more functional part of this forum.Hey maybe I can flush Kamrooz out.

Ahemmm!!!  Big Smile

Hello all!  We have a new contest that just went up LIVE!  Cool

yeah ive been reading and rereading this thread and i see loads of people who ahve 4-5 posts say something along the lines of "it would be awesome if i win this.." and leave.

one thing i did notice though, is the board dies down between contests... or is that just me? could be my excitment level is way too high.

No I think your right Ice. Seems like a peak right when the contest is announced and then again right before the winner is announced.

this is one of the best forums i been on people should stay longer to check it out!

ive upped my daily activity, i too like nelson dont like to post unless ive got something meaningful to contribute, but i was sick for around a week and a half and ive been playing catch up :-)

Yep, school is more important for me than a computer right now. The job that I want to get when I grow up is a job that you have to be the best in to get it. I want to do visual effects and animation for the movies, and you don't have much time if you are busy creating something and doing work for school.

Hey Guys, the boys at SmoothCreations just informed me they are adding a treat to the system. They are water cooling this animal.

Awesome. Any details on what they will be watercooling and what they might be using?

I'd say something along the lines of copper and tubes. Stick out tongue

Well this is quite a nice rig, heck all of the rigs beat my aging desktop.

my pants just got creamed.

jesus christ this is an all out amd monster :-) the person who wins this will enjoy it for years to come....

Holy crap, water cooling?  I've never had anything water cooled in my life!   My excitement has increased even further, which I didn't think was possible.Big Smile

But Davo, isn't QUALITY more important than QUANTITY?

Oh man, guys, the CPU is going to get H2O. I am trying to get them to do the X2 as well. I have seen the benchmarks on this beast and I am really impressed. This beast is every gamers delight. I wish we can show you the other toys we have from SmoothCreations for Next's deal. These guys artwork is just so amazing. Giving you a tour of their place is like going to toy's r us and not being sure what to get.

i hate going to toys r us (or any store) for taht reason i can never choose anything. but yeah i checked out smotth creations and their case jobs are out of this worth, i really liked the simpsons one.

Wow I just checked out some of ya'lls cases over at smooth creations and they're pretty sweet.

I have to say that is one hell of a rig!

Whoaa!! i would just be happy winning the case! =D awesome rig!!!

/whistles

I am very interested in winning a case like this because there was in a past a contest on another site where you could have won a Blue Flame CSX Case, but, unfortunately,I did not won :(

I'm in dire need of upgrading my main PC.
This system would be like owning an exotic sports car.
Everyone will just stop and stare. Just like owning a
Ferrari, Lotus, Lamborghini, etc...

If you win.
Enjoy the ride!

I just hope it's me...

Hahah! BChase, come on! That white utility van you drive is a chick magnet. You don't need no stinking Lotus.

I don't really have a rig. The one I'm useing now is my grandmas and it's one of thoes cheap bottom row Wal-Mart specials.

I lost my rig after my dad did some "stuff" and the FBI came knocking one early morning. They took my computer and I've called them over and over again but they don't seem interested in giveing it back. I talked to the DA and he said he could not do anything about it because it was federal. I talked to an attorney but he said it would cost me more to fight them to get it back than what it's worth *sigh*

Oh well my computer was getting old anyways it was:

CPU: AMD Athlon 2100+

Memory: 2GB PC3200

Video Card: XFX Nvida 7600 GT XXX Edition

Sound: Soundblaster X-Fi XtreamMusic

I now have a Core 2 Duo e4700 that is the first part of my new rig and will upgrade that to a 45nm quad core later on. I guess I'll get 4GB of DDR2 800, what ever the best $200 card (+or- $15) is at the time I go to get one, a Soundblaster X-Fi maybe the X-Fi 2 if its out by then, a 350-450GB harddrive, and a 19" widescreen monitor with a native resolution of 1444x900 maybe a Samsung.

Of course if I win this rig I would just sell off the e4700, but thats about as likely as getting struck by lightning in a cave.
