That is a crazy good deal, if I needed one I would be all over this. |

Wow - that's a great price. If I hadn't just purchased an SSD a few months ago I would snap one of these up! |

That is a friggin' good deal. SATA-II (3GB sec) speed is still a heck of a lot faster than a platter drive. |

I purchased a 100GB Vertex 2($400) way back in June of 2010.It has Intel 34nm NAND. It first saw duty in an Asus P5Q-E desktop then an LG notebook where it performed flawlessly on the SATA II bus. Now it resides inside a caddy in the optical bay of an MSI gaming notebook. In the MSI the bios needs to be set on RAID for the Vertex 2 to be recognized on a cold boot.Setting the bios to RAID has all 3 disks as non member in the Intel Raid Utility OROM. It just keeps on ticking. Versions of the Vertex 2 with Hynix 32nm and Intel 25nm NAND have had performance and failure issues. Hopefully, the newest 25nm manufactured units are a lot better. |
