Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

It has been another great year for us here at HotHardware.com, thanks in no small part to all of you--our awesome readers! As 2009 draws to a close, we want to take another chance to thank you all yet again for being a part of our extended families and making this just a great place to work (and play!).

Happy New Year!

If you’re going to be out partying tonight, have lots of fun, but most of all be safe! We want to hear all of the stories of your debauchery tomorrow, although Saturday would be good too! We understand that some of you may not be "functional" tomorrow after tonight's partying, so we'll give you that extra day to recover. :)  The members of team HH are going to be out and about in our respective corners of the world, but we’ll be checking in with any news that breaks and will be back to our full coverage before you know it.

While I have you, be sure to set aside some reading time over the next couple of weeks, as we’ve got some hot hardware in the labs as we speak, and Dave, Mat and I are headed out to the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas next week where there is always a lot to see! See you all in 2010!

Happy New Year to you guys too!  Can't wait to see the reports from CES!

I know I asked last year, but seriously:  If you see anyone pushing the Ostendo monitor for $6500, could you punch them in the face for me?

You got it. I'll be sure to bring my brass knuckles along with me too--just in case.

Only 2 weeks late lol could be worse.

Man, i had a BAD beginning of the new year!

Day 1 got pulled over for a speeding ticket... my insurance had expired Dec 31st, so i got a ticket for that, and my driver's license didn't reflect my current address, so he wrote me a ticket for that too!!

Ended up 15 minutes late to work. Got sick, horrible head ache, felt like I was gonna throw up. So I left work like 15 minutes early. On my way HOME i got pulled over again, even tho I was obeying the law. The cop pulled me over cuz I had a warrant for an unpaid speeding ticket. He didn't arrest me or anything just to pull me over to tell me to go pay it. Rawr.

But after day 1 it hasn't been so bad... lol

That sucks! I got pulled over on New Year's as well. The cop wanted to make sure I wasn't drunk.

Last week I got pulled over for my license plate lamp light being out.

I mean, wtf?! I know states are in financial trouble and trying to bridge the budget gap, but don't suck the money via stupid tickets.

no kidding man. There was an article recently on MSN talking about this specifically. They did a survey showing ticketing was up almost 200% in some places.

I get stopped ALL THE TIME for not having a front license plate lol

There's no holes on my front bumper for one, and I don't plan on putting any there sooooo ya know.

But I haven't gotten a ticket for it yet. Just like 10 warnings lol And always from State Troopers. Got pulled over for it twice in 1 day within 30 minutes by 2 different cops lol

So now that we are almost to the end of month 1 of the year how has everyones New year been going. There has definitely been some cool hardware and projections rolled out.

It's been a really cold winter compared to the last two or three, so heating costs are way up. My wife is a High School Teacher and the schools here in Virginia are taking a huge funding hit from the Federal and the State governments. As a result, they have not handed out a pay raise to the teachers at her school for the last three years. It seems as if inflation is not on the same schedule as we are however, so we've gone from 'fairly comfortable' to just 'getting by' month to month.

Sad  We had some hope and faith in the new administration as to stopping the two wars that America's in, but the new guy seems to be drinking the Kool-Aid that his Generals are offering him and contrary to what he pledged before we voted for him, he's escalating. We are disappointed in him. We understand that he's a smart guy but it seems that you cannot depend on someone's intelligence to guide him in his actions like you could in the past. This effects my son in the service as he will deploy to Afghanistan soon and his mother will soon start to have the nightmares that accompany her son's going off to a war zone. Our other son deployed three times before he got out of the service, so we've been dealing with these nightmares for a few years now,..........

Everybody around me acts a little shell-shocked these days and I understand it due to the situation America is in. I feel like we as a country, are controlled by corporate interests that are controlling the idiots we've elected to government. We used to say that they worked for the people, but it's not true anymore. On paper we're a rich nation, but in reality we've already blown our wad.

On a more pleasant note I'm madly in love with my wife and we're happy together. My cars both are fairly new and paid off too. I sorta have my health. And have I told you about my new computer?  Big Smile

You asked,............

Yeah it has, I was reading an article saying with a firm scientific backing the earth is dealing with the C02. To do this the earth permits or makes/allows a higher evaporated water amount to bleed into the atmosphere. This cools the planet so it is just nature in action. It also explains the extra rain!

it really hasn't rained all that much in new york... :D

The weather is unpredictable all over the world. There may be something to this 'global warming' stuff after all. Wink

I like the fact that we get a lot of rain here in Virginia. I lived for most of my life in the Mojave Desert in California and we were rain-starved there for sure.

But here, it's green all over, and there are streams and rivers everywhere to see. It's quite a change, but quite nice as far as I'm concerned.

lol, Guess there's no reason for anyone to deny this "Global Warming" thing now :D
