HTC Imagio Brings Windows Mobile 6.5 To Verizon On October 6th For $200

Waiting patiently for Windows Mobile 6.5 before buying your next smartphone? If so, and you just so happen to prefer Verizon Wireless' airwaves, you're in lucky. Starting October 6th--just a few days from today--America's Big Red carrier will begin selling a striking new HTC handset by the name of Imagio.

The direct rival to Sprint's own Android-powered HTC Hero, this handset will boast a 3.6" touchscreen (with an amazing 800 x 480 resolution), mobile TV support, a MediaFLO interface, WinMo 6.5, 5MP auto-focusing camera, support for EV-DO Rev. A 3G, Wi-Fi, a quad-band GSM/EDGE module for worldwide connectivity and a 1500mAh battery. There's also a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as support for Rhapsody, so even music lovers are taken care of here.

The HTC Imagio will be available to order from VZW's website starting on 10/06 for $199.99 with a 2-year agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate; those wishing to buy one in store will have to wait until October 20th. So, do you plan on giving WinMo 6.5 a chance, or are you sticking with webOS/Android/iPhone OS until Windows Mobile 7 finally arrives?
