Gateway Intros SX & DX Series SFF Desktops

A few months have gone by since we've seen any new machines from Gateway, but the company is following the crowd this month by introducing back-to-school PCs long before most kids are even thinking about the next term. The two new lines introduced today are the small form factor SX Series and the compact DX Series mini-tower line, both of which are designed with value in mind and are accompanied by a Gateway FHD monitor.


Obviously, both of these were designed with space constraints in mind, and while they certainly aren't cut out for gaming, they should fit in cramped dorm rooms just fine while handling a bevy of Word and Excel documents (and the occasional round of Hearts, too). The SX Series gets going at $499.99 and is equipped with an Intel Core 2 Quad 8200 (2.33GHz) processor, 4GB of RAM, integrated Intel graphics, an HDMI port and a 640GB hard drive.


The DX Series is designed with power junkies in mind, boasting your choice of an AMD or Intel CPU, large HDDs, copious amounts of memory and a solid amount of expansion bays / slots. This unit starts at $749.99 and arrives with a 2.4GHz AMD Phenom X4 9750 CPU, ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics (1GB), 8GB of DDR2 RAM, a 1TB hard drive, 18x DVD writer and eight USB 2.0 ports.
