Firefox Home Now Available for iPhone

Forthwith, my humble experiences.

Thanks to Paul's article, I headed to the download page (on my Windows box) and the App Store (on my iPod Touch). Immediately there was a little moment of misgiving; first, how would this interact with Xmarks, if at all? And, who chose the text/background colors?

No answer for (b), but (1) isn't addressed in the FAQ nor Knowledge Base. I'll keep both of them installed for the moment. Restart, finish the PC side of it, and now the App Store.

In response to the first dialog box Firefox Home displays: Yes, I am 17 or older. (Oh boy! he thinks. There's porn involved!)

Great. I may as well use the built-in Safari. Sure, I can stretch the screen out... and then have to scroll left and right, left and right, up and down, until I've read all the text and seen all the pictures. Pretty much the same as every other browser out there.

And no porn. Double disappointment.

@Inspector (below): Nope, it is indeed a whole different browser from Safari.

Safari is on the top, Firefox Home is on the bottom. (Apple disallowing "duplicate" apps in the App Store is pretty much a myth.) Looks like the latter chops off sidebars smaller than the former, and FH doesn't have the "bookmark" icon because its home screen is your bookmark list from your desktop computer's list. Other than that, they're very similar. The bottom right button has some URL-related options, such as "View in Safari" and "Copy URL."

Oh, and by "stretching" I mean the action of putting two fingers on the screen and separating them, kind of like a pinch but in reverse. In many apps, that'll enlarge the displayed image; pinching shrinks it. Double-tapping with three fingers zooms the screen in to the maximum enlargement.

Ya, the text and background for the sync setup is not firefox's style... why purple? did they run out of colors?

isn't the app just syncing you bookmarks and tabs with safari?

lol.... Who makes all these firefox pictures? lol It's like there's one for every occasion!
