EA Posts 17-Minute Battlefield 4 Video Preview

Battlefield 4 isn’t going to be available until this fall, but EA is throwing us a bone (or does this count as teasing?) by posting a 17-minute video of the game’s “Fishing in Baku” mission. There’s a healthy mix of scripted scenes and more open gameplay, but in both cases the action moves very quickly.

The visuals are smooth and stunning, particularly when it comes to the body movements of you and your team and down to small details like leaves rusting as you run past them and the position and glare of the sun as you move.

There are spectacular crashes and lots of destruction, multiple weapons, jumping into vehicles, excellent explosions, and fun activities such as blowing walls apart with shotguns and grenade launchers. The audio experience is scintillating as well; the voice acting is strong, and the noise of the shotgun blasts will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

If you have the time, sit through all 17 minutes; it starts out hot, and there are some cool teasers at the very end. Somewhere in the middle, there’s this MVP quote: “The bone’s powder, it’s just flesh and uniform keeping me here!”
