Dell Streak to Hit AT&T on Friday

It's like a 'tweener in the NBA. The Dell Streak is considered by many to be too big for a phone, and too small for a tablet. Despite that, it's now confirmed for AT&T, starting Friday in stores, and with pre-orders on Thursday.

The Dell Streak is a 5" Android device, shipping with Android 1.6 (ugh), though Dell says it will be upgradeable to Android 2.2 (Froyo) later. It has a WVGA (800x480) Gorilla Glass screen, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 2GB of internal storage, 512MB of ROM and 512MB of RAM. It has a VGA front-facing camera and a 5 MP autofocus rear camera with dual LED flash.

Pricing is $299 with a two-year AT&T contract, and $549 contract-free. It's not, however, a though this week needs to be any busier Android-wise. The Droid 2 is already set for retail launch on Aug. 12th, tne rumors are flying about the Epic 4G on Sprint launching this week as well.

Here's a video of the Dell Streak in action. The press release follows the video.
